Hailing from Fulham, South West London, I have been around music from a young age growing up around 70s & 80s Pop and Portuguese Folk regularly playing at home. Since buying my first cassette tape “Tease Me” by Chaka Demus & Pliers, to my current tastes, I have indulged in many musical genres building a collection ranging from the 60’s all the way to our current years, playing everything from House, Garage, RnB/Soul, Hip hop, Pop, Reggae, Rock, Funk, Disco and much more.

At the age of 18 having bought my first DJ set-up I began practising the art of mixing two records together. Mastering my mixing skills on classic vinyl the hobby soon progressed from my bedroom, getting DJ sets at house parties, my university bar and a residency at 333’s bar on the Fulham Road. Soon after I also managed to get on the London club circuit playing regularly at high profile venues such as Aura, Pangaea and Atlantic Bar.

Over time I became captivated by the art of turntablism - a DJ who is an expert in sampling, scratching, and similar techniques – after going to see my first DMC World Championships. It was amazing to see these DJs and what they could do. I knew straight away that I wanted to be able to do those things and not just beat-match like all the DJs I had ever seen before. Having honed my DJ skills and style over the years I also entered the world’s largest DJ competition performing at the Islington Carling Academy to battle for recognition as the best DJ in the world.

Having been a DJ for most of my life, I’ve gained a diverse understanding of many musical genres which I like to translate into my sets, picking apart and infusing all types of music through speedy precision mixing, scratching and beat juggling techniques. It’s an amazing feeling when seeing the audience react to a scratch routine, a mix of two of their favourite songs or when suddenly a popular tune is dropped.

The present focus continues to be on rocking parties for my commercial and private bookings -which include my own high quality DJ sound system for mobile sets – which I always look forward to. In future, I plan to enter further DJ competitions and aim to work on the music production side to release some of my own tracks, I have also recently been invited to join Choice FM UK and played at their 2016 New Years Eve Party in association with Project Oldskool – so watch this space!
